A walk of stunning contrasts featuring moorland hills and edges, spectacular views, riverside paths, a wooded gorge, a National Trust estate, and the lovely village of Hathersage. We will walk by Derwent river and then onwards to just before Grindleford Train Station where will then ascend to the Longshaw Estate via Padley Gorge. Then we will go to Fox House where we can stop for refreshments. We'll then head towards Burbage Bridge and then to Higger Tor where we can enjoy the beautiful views of the moors, Stanage Edge and the Hope Valley. Then we will head back to Hathersage via the church.
We’ll stop for lunch somewhere on the route, so please come prepared.
Please note this will be a muddy or boggy walk (requiring sturdy walking boots).
