Scrambling and Hiking, Three Cloughs and The Trinnacle

Details
Route: Rimmon Pit Clough, Birchen Clough and Holme Clough
Meet at: Car Park on North side of A635 approx 6 miles West of Holmfirth town centre. OS map reference SE051063. Look out for twin wooden posts with red reflectors and chevrons at either side of the road. The car park is just on the right when you pass between the posts (from Manchester way the car park is on the left just beyond a large sign stating “Welcome to Kirklees").
This interesting and varied outing features three pleasant scrambles as well as a fantastic photo opportunity on top of a spectacular three pronged giant rock pinnacle known as The Trinnacle.
The full day will include a Grade 1 scrambling descent of Rimmon Pit Clough, an entertaining Grade 1 scrambling ascent of Birchen Clough, a short diversion to The Trinnacle with a few more easy scrambling moves to reach the top, an ascent of a shallow gully and a hike along the edge of Middle Edge Moss followed by a fun descent of the heathery hillside then a Grade 1 scrambling ascent of Holme Clough including an interesting waterfall pitch and a delicate slab before a moorland hike across Little Moss to return to the car park.
