This outdoor climbing meet is for people who attended the Beginners Climbing session on 27th April and would like to take the next step.
This session is aimed at equipping you with the skills and confidence to be able to climb more confidently on a top rope, second a route (take the climbing gear out the rocks as you climb) and be able to lead belay. These are the skills that will allow you to join almost all of the climbing sessions we'll be running across the summer.
NOTE: This is simply an introduction to climbing led by people in the group with experience and not by qualified guides/instructors and it is NOT a learning trad climbing course and there is NO insurance provided.
Sheffield Mountaineering recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. We will do everything possible to keep you safe but we are NOT responsible for any accidents you may have. By signing up and coming to the event you agree to all of this.
Fee: There will be a very modest event fee of £5.00 to go towards wear and tear on climbing ropes and gear provided as well as our operating costs. There will be NO FEE for experienced climbers bringing gear and helping others.
