Climbing and Bouldering at Baslow
Details
Our first event of the new outdoor climbing season. This one will be ideal for beginners, improvers and those looking to develop their skills for the Austrian Alps trip in June.
Baslow Edge
Meet at: Curbar Gap car park, Clodhall Lane, just East of Curbar, postcode S32 3YR, OS map reference SK261747. As an environmentally conscious group, we actively encourage car sharing. Further details of car sharing arrangements from Sheffield and elsewhere will appear in the comments section nearer the time.
Baslow Edge is a pleasant crag which fortunately doesn’t suffer from the over popularity of places like Stanage and Burbage. The climbing here is generally of a more delicate and technical nature than at many other gritstone edges in the area. There are also a number of interesting slabby boulder problems. The crag offers mostly easy and medium grade routes making it an ideal venue for beginners and intermediate climbers.
