Details
Route: Nether Red Brook and Upper Red Brook.
Suitable for beginners and more experienced scramblers.
Assemble at 09.45 for a prompt 10.00 departure.
Meet in the Birchin Clough Bridge car park on the A57, about 1 km west of what was the Snake Pass Inn, now a residential house. Approx post code S33 0AB. Map reference SK109914. The car park is on the right if coming from Sheffield, parking is free. As an environmentally conscious group, we actively encourage car sharing. Further details of car sharing arrangements from Sheffield, Manchester and elsewhere will appear in the comments section nearer the time.
We will follow the River Ashop for approx 1 hour to take us to the start of the scramble, To get there, it will be necessary to walk across wet ground, so please be prepared for wet feet.
After ascending Upper Red Brook we will come down to the start of Nether Red Brook
For those looking for more challenging scrambles, there are a couple of more difficult finishes on the right of the main route
At the top, we will hike along Black Ashop Edge stopping at the pedestal stones for some walking on air photos before descending by Fair Brook. A walk through deforested land, then along the river bank, takes us back to the cars.
A reasonable level of fitness would be beneficial.
Distance approx 13 km.

We do ask for a small payment of £2.00 to go towards Meetup fees and other operating costs.
Any questions please ask in the comments sections or message me
Many thanks, Dave.
