A fun challenge in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District, this hike has some amazing views if we’re lucky enough to have good visibility on the day!

Starting out in Bamford, we will make our way along Thornhill Trail, then up to Win Hill via Parkin Clough (which can be muddy and slippery so be prepared for a challenging ascent). We will then head over to Crook Hill and back down to Bamford / Ladybower Reservoir (where there are some toilets and the opportunity to refill water bottles), before heading up to Bamford Edge for the final part of the route.

We will keep a good pace with frequent short breaks. Be aware that parts of the route may be boggy. For anyone who wants to join but may not manage the full route, you can finish early and walk back down to Bamford from Ladybower, skipping the final ascent to Bamford Edge :-)

Only sign up if you’ve done some hillwalking in recent weeks as it’s quite a strenuous hike.
