Qualified Physiotherapist and long-time yoga practitioner Jake Wilde is leading a Hatha- Vinyasa yoga class in Sheffield with a Calisthenics twist
The classes sit somewhere between vinyasa and hatha style yoga, but also with a calisthenics component for building some great functional strength.
Longer holds in the activating positions to create lots of muscle tension (and also build strength) coupled with stretches where you can really feel the relaxation in your body after the activating poses and time under tension from the calisthenics oriented movements.
The classes are very much oriented towards getting into the body and creating a sanctuary away from the stresses of life. Breathwork and stillness are an essential part of the classes alongside getting an excellent workout in. The classes will help you to calm and regulate your nervous system and leave you feeling fantastic.
Classes are held by myself, a long time yoga practitioner, physiotherapist and personal trainer. Yoga has made a huge impact on my life and I want to share that with as many people as possible.
The classes will be intense enough for more advanced people but also fine for beginners, as all poses have easier options factored in.
All you need is a yoga mat, some water and yourself! Taking place every Tuesday morning at Common Ground Community Centre, Nether edge at 6.30am. Your first session is FREE and then if wanting to attend regularly this is a paid class.
To try it out, just register for the event and come along!
