Shelf Love Book Club

All are welcome on this shelf.

Shelf Love is an in-person book club in San Antonio for readers who love great books and want to make real friends while reading them.

We read critically acclaimed books by women and queer authors, from the classics that shaped literature to the weird, wonderful modern favorites everyone’s talking about. Expect a mix of:

✨ Harlem Renaissance
✨ Gothic & horror
✨ Queer classics
✨ Fiction in translation
✨ Weird girl lit

How it works
Two books a month. Pick one to read, or read both. The goal is to finish at least one by the meeting.

We meet in person on the last Saturday of every month in San Antonio.

Content warnings for each book are shared monthly on Instagram and by email, but please double-check each book for what’s right for you.

Our full 2027 book list goes public in November.

Who can join?
Anyone who wants to read the books! This is a welcoming space for book nerds of all kinds who are looking to make friends. Bigotry and hate speech are not permitted. Kindness is required.
