What we’re about
San Francisco's Shelton Theater is happy to bring Wednesday nights in the city to life with fabulously fun and dynamic poetry salons. This event happens regularly every other Wednesday in our beautiful space where you can enjoy cocktails, wine and beer alongside poetry readings, surreal writing games and interactive experiences designed to connect the written word to other forms of creative expression.
Our mission is to establish a community of writers, artists, and performers that gather in support of artistic process, authentic self expression, radical experimentation, social ritual, and intuitive creation. The event will be split into two segments beginning with two readings by Bay Area poets and concluding with a hour long salon hosted by Barcelona Poetry Workshop's founder Kate Finneran. Themes as well as writing exercises will rotate weekly and participants can expect to leave having developed and shared their work, participated in stimulating group and individual writing games and other unexpected inspiring scenarios.
