1-on-1 Mandarin and French Language Exchange

Details

The goal to set up this group is to help people who would like to improve thier Mandarin/French skill. You can bring a textbook to attend the event or just chat here to improve your oral language skill.

• Language exchange with friendly people. How it works?

You can take a textbook suitable for your level. If you have any questions about the language, don't be shy and feel free to ask your partner.

Or you can just chip-chat with your partner to pratice and improve your oral Chinese/French.

This is our first event. So everybody who would like to join are welcome to give advice to me.You can prepare some cards or books for your partners. There are rookies(Like me:P) here.So children's books are also welcome,as long as it can help with learning a language.

Tips:1.When you get your partner,please make a short bio first.(We call that is ice-breaker);

2.For those who already acquire the foreign language very well. You can prepare some of your stories or share some interesting news.(This can enhance your oral skill)'

3.Bring a notebook(especially for the rookies),if there is difficulties between you and your partner's conversation.Try to draw.(Trust me,this progress will be very fun!)Besides, you may get some new words.

Format and Time:

7:15pm -9:15pm (2 hours of 1 on 1 language exchange)

First part: 7:15pm - 8:15pm (first 30 minutes French followed by 30 minutes Mandarin)

changing partners:8:15pm-8:20pm

Second part:8:20pm -9:15pm (first 30 minutes Mandarin followed by 30 minutes French)

• Waitlist:

Because the goal of this group is to maintain 1-on-1 partnering, usually there are more Chinese speakers than French speakers . I have to create a waitlist and manage the RSVPs in order to maintain the 1-on-1 balance of French to Chinese speakers.

• Important rules:

  1. If you mark RSVP and do not attend, you'll be removed from the club.

  2. If you are going to arrive late, please contact me to let me know when you'll arrive.

  3. There is no admission charge - but you should buy some food or a beverage from the resturant.

  4. One Chinese speaker to one French speaker. You will be paired randomly.

  5. If you have a friend who wants to join, please ask them to sign up and register. This is to maintain the balance of French to Mandarin speakers for 1-on-1.

Any questions or concerns please contact me through this website
