SheSails Charter - Social Sailing Day August 7th 2022

An opportunity to be part of a group chartering a yacht for a day and enjoying a social sailing day in the Solent in company with other SheSails members. A qualified RYA instructor will skipper the boat, offering instruction and guidance. No previous sailing experience is necessary, all levels welcome.

Please note that this is a yacht charter event and not a sailing school organised activity. Please read the T&Cs carefully to ensure you understand the implications of this before confirming your interest.

We will leave the marina after a short safety brief and make our way out into the Solent. Our destination will be determined by the conditions and tides on the day, but could be Cowes or anywhere on the Isle of Wight, the Beaulieu River or Chichester Harbour.

What you want to get out of the day will be up to you, either learning the ‘ropes’ of sailing, wind awareness, sailing terminology and how to sail or concentrating on particular areas you wish to develop your skills in. You can get involved as little or as much as you like, with opportunities to take the helm, rope work, changing and hoisting sails, or simply sitting back and enjoying the experience.

Bring your own lunch which will be had either at anchor or at a sheltered destination in the Solent, giving you time to relax. All onboard safety equipment is provided.

The boat will be 35-40ft (10.6-12m) with 6-8 people on board. The skipper will be a RYA qualified instructor. We do aim to provide a female skipper, but this is not always possible. To confirm your place please RSVP, make full payment AND complete the form using the link provided. Your place on the sailing day will only be confirmed once both payment and the form have been received.

Payment of £95 upfront is required for this event. Please take note of our strict cancellation policy. We are a non profit group and the charter will only take place if we have enough people to cover our costs. If we cannot cover our costs or the event is cancelled by SheSails for any reason, you will be refunded or can have a credit for use against a future event. In ALL other circumstances no refund will be given unless your place can be filled by another SheSails member. We do operate a waiting list, and will try to find a replacement, but this is not guaranteed.
