19:10 Model-Based Automation for Complex Business Applications
In the digital age, test automation experts face the challenge of efficiently automating the testing of extensive forms within complex business applications. The large number of fields in each form, combined with the multitude of possible input variations, complicates end-to-end test automation—especially under the constraints of limited time and resources. This presentation introduces a model-based approach that generates test automation code and employs an interpreter to systematically and blindly fill out each form’s user interface. The core concept of this approach is transferable to other applications and UI test automation tools. As senior software developer and head of quality assurance at mgm technology partners, Lilia Gargouri brings over 25 years of expertise in both software development and quality assurance of enterprise software. Through her innovative model-driven test automation tool, the mgm Q12-ATA, she has made a sustained impact on quality assurance within the company.
19:50 From Painful to Productive: Making test environments work for everyone
When was the last time you’ve struggled with the environment management in your project? For me, this has been among the top three of my pain points during the last years. And this pain ranges from someone changing an environment’s configuration without telling anyone to someone using up all the test data without resetting it or environments simply not being available when I need them.
In my current project we decided to transform the test environment in the regulated context of the financial sector and introduced DevOps culture and practices. I’m going to illustrate our starting point and the steps taken to achieve on-demand environments for everyone. Join me on our journey from mainframe architecture to containerization and infrastructure as code!Originally holding a PhD in molecular biology, Katja changed career paths a couple of years ago and started her journey into the testing world. She is currently working as a test consultant and testing team lead at QualityMinds. In addition to digging her way deeper into the realm of test automation, she is also passionate about learning new testing techniques and onboarding new testers.
