SheWorks: Stock Market Investing for Beginners
Details
Curious about getting started in the stock market but not sure where to begin? Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly meetup focused on the fundamentals. We'll meet at Bown Crossing Library and then grab lunch nearby at Bown's Tavern or Barrio.
We’ll cover how investing works at a high level, including ETFs vs. individual stocks, dividends and reinvestment, basic order types (market vs. limit), and how people think about long-term growth. I’ll bring a simple, easy-to-follow handout to guide the conversation—no prior knowledge needed.
More experienced investors are welcome to join and share what’s worked for them, lessons learned, and practical tips. This is a casual, discussion-based meetup—come with questions, curiosity, or just an interest in learning something new.
Note: To keep things approachable, we won’t be covering retirement accounts (IRA, Roth IRA, 401k) or more advanced strategies like options or covered calls.
Location: Bown Crossing Library followed by lunch nearby
