What we’re about
Sh*t at Soccer is a weekly kickabout and social group for queer women and nonbinary folks (and our allies) with a goal to get out more, try new hobbies, and meet people.
Our cornerstone event is the weekly (Sh*t at) Soccer Kickabout/Pickup Game, and we also attend Women’s Sports (Reign, Storm, etc) Games and have a “Sh*t at ____” series where we try new hobbies (sporty and non-sporty) in the Seattle area.
Currently, there’s a lot of pressure to monetize or be good at your hobbies. This is your chance to be passionately TERRIBLE at something - and have a great time doing it while potentially meeting your new best friends.
Our rules are:
- Be sh*t at soccer or bring your “Sh*t at Soccer” energy.
- No dudes! Sorry, guys.
- Don’t be the reason we have to make a third rule.
We’re an intentionally queer group, and the host is a nonbinary lesbian. We welcome trans women, cis women, non-binary folks, and non-queer allies who want to play soccer and attend events without the guys around!
Sh*t at Soccer Kickabout/Pickup Game
Hosted weekly on Sundays at 11am, this is a social-oriented pickup game. You’re welcome to come if you’re good at soccer and here for the vibes, but you’ll have just as much fun if you’re shit. We don’t run drills or keep score, everybody cheers for everybody, and honestly, we’ll cheer for you more if you go for it and totally miss than if you get a perfect goal lol. We usually head to Pitch the Baby (a Women’s Sports Bar on Capitol Hill) after the game or if we get rained out. While it is technically a bar, plenty of us just hang out and grab a bite - drinking not required.
Our Kickabout is ALWAYS FREE, you don’t have to be in shape or have any gear to attend, and parking is ALSO FREE - so basically you have no excuse not to come ;)
Shit at _______
This is an event series that answers the sentiment “I’ve always wanted to try ______”. We do everything - from pottery painting to hiking to flag football and more. Regulars vote on what we want to do next, I (Ellie) set it up, then we spend an afternoon (or evening or day) being bad at whatever the thing is. It’s a lot of fun, it’s great for our non-soccer homies, and the occasional ticketed helps keep the soccer free!
If you're not a big meetup person, follow us on Instagram at @Shitatsoccer - all events are cross-posted.

Sh*t at Hiking - Snoqualmie Falls
Snoqualmie Falls, 6501 Railroad Ave Se, Snoqualmie, WA, USCome be Sh*t at Hiking with your fave local queer women & nonbinary folks! We’re taking our talents to Snoqualmie Falls for an easy out-and-back hike with some elevation and excellent views and then have coffee/lunch together afterwards. No gear or experience required — just bring your usual enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new.
Rules:
- Be shit at hiking or in the spirit of shit at hiking!
- No dudes! Sorry, guys
- Don't be the reason I have to make a third rule
To be honest, most of the Sh*t at Soccer regulars are pretty good at hiking (can do 10+ miles) BUT we're going to put on our slow pants for this event and just have a nice, casual day out in the spirit of shit at hiking.
Plan:
– Meet outside the visitor center at 11am
– Hike starts 11:15am
– We’ll hike down, take pics at the falls, maybe splash or climb some river rocks if it’s nice out, then hike back up
– Afterwards, we'll grab coffee/sandwiches at the visitor center café on site and hang outParking:
Free + chill. If the main lot is full, there’s a big one across the street — just use the walking bridge to get across after you parkWeather note:
We’ll proceed as usual if it’s just light rain, but will cancel if it turns into a soggy disaster. I’ll post an update morning-of if needed.Rules:
- Be shit at hiking or in the spirit of shit at hiking!
- No dudes! Sorry, guys
- Don't be the reason I have to make a third rule
IF THIS HIKE SEEMS TOO EASY FOR YOU, stay tuned for our next hiking event on Oct 25 which is about 10 miles and will be called "Actually F*cking Bomb at Hiking"
11 attendeesReign Game - Volunteer at the last home game!
Lumen Field, 800 Occidental Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134, Seattle, WA, USJoin our group of queer women and nonbinary folk to watch the last home game of the Reign season! Plus, this is our opportunity to watch this team on home turf before they FINALLY make the playoffs! Soccer knowledge not required, just a willingness to hold a banner and an interest in making friends.
The opportunity is to volunteer by holding a flag (Reign Team, not USA) or banner ON-field during the pre-match ceremony, in exchange for tickets to the match and getting to take photos on the field prior to the match.
Fill out the following to volunteer and get a FREE ticket to the game:
Friday, October 17th (Fan Appreciation): https://seattlereignfc.formstack.com/forms/10_17_reign_on_field_participant_sign_up
When filling out the form put:
Organization - Sh*t at Soccer
How did you hear about this opportunity - Sh*t at Soccer MeetupDetails, per CJ at Reign FC:
- The first 45 people to sign-up for the match will be guaranteed a spot, once we hit 45 sign-ups the remaining people will be added to a waitlist
- Sign-ups will close either 1 week before kickoff, or when all spots are filled
- Those signed up can expect detailed logistics to be emailed 1 week before kickoff and sent a final reminder 48-hours in advance
- As usual, those who participate will have the opportunity to take photos on the field after rehearsal and receive a free ticket to the match!
Our Plan:
- Rehearsal from 3:45 to approx. 4:30 (CJ will send exact times)
- Head to Elysian Brewing with our group and whatever friendly strangers we can find (usually fellow queers)
- Help with pre-match ceremony, with Kickoff at 7pm
- Watch the game from the supporter section for free!!
Are you not free at 3:45pm? Here's a pro tip: If you've volunteered before, you can email CJ and they'll usually let you skip the rehearsal as long as you're there a little before kickoff (6:30pm at the earliest). Also, you can skip volunteering entirely just get tickets for the supporter section (super cheap!) and sit with our group anyways. Seats in that section aren't assigned. Message/text me if you need help figuring out which seats to buy or how to find us.
Parking: Sucks. There's no way around it. If you're driving, be prepared to circle a few times for street parking or pay out the ass. I highly recommend public transport or a lime bike.
Accessibility note: This is a fan appreciation game, and I'm expecting our section to get LOUD - like, louder than usual, which is already loud. If you're sound-sensitive like me, bring earplugs.
Depending on how much energy have and folks plans for the next day, we'll sometimes head to Cowgirls (nearby and has a mechanical bull) or the Wildrose (cap hill lesbian bar) after games. We usually decide at the end of the game.
Please note: just RSVPing here is NOT enough to get you in to the game - you have to either fill out the above and volunteer OR buy tickets

Judkins Park , 2150 S Norman St, Seattle, 98144, Seattle, WA, USPlay soccer with queer women and nonbinary folks! Allies also welcome.
11:00-11:15am - Chatting & easy warmup games
11:15am-1:00pm - Play soccer!! We play on a smaller than standard field and switch off who is in goal. While it's still a bit of a workout, it's more fun than competitive - we don't keep score and we cheer for everyone. After, we usually head to a Pitch the Baby (or another local spot) to chat, get food, and hang out.
What to bring:
WATER, Sneakers, Clothes you can move inYou're welcome to wear any protective gear (shin guards, cleats, etc) you have, but it's not required. Which brings me to:
Don't let lack of supplies stop you from showing up. I bring a ball, pinnies, cones, extra water, etc.
Rules:
- Be shit at soccer or bring your "shit-at-soccer" energy
- No dudes! Sorry, guys
- Don't be the reason we have to make a third rule
Parking: Super easy!! There is a parking lot and tons of free street parking. It's generally safe, but don't leave any high-ticket items (laptops etc) visible in your car.
Accessibility: We take regular water/rest breaks and folks can sub in/out of games whenever. Most of us are not in shape. Full disclosure: the bathrooms are pretty shitty and I've never seen the water fountain NOT broken. I don't own a rattle ball, but I'm happy to use it if you bring it. I bring a small first aid kit and ice packs in case of injuries.
Can I come late/leave early?: Yes! Our format makes it easy to accommodate whatever time you have.
Dogs: This park frequently has off leash dogs running around.
I (Ellie) pay for a monthly for a meetup subscription and buy all of our supplies/first aid kits. If you would like to help offset costs and keep our events free, contribute to my venmo @ellie-ish !
