We meet Thursday Nights 6PM-11PM at Peninsula Games 604 2nd Ave #4, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
Come meet us for a friendly, challenging night of Backgammon!
We have 3 ways to play: Tournament, Casual & Chouette.

• Main tournament 9pt match, $20 entry fee. Casual play, $10 entry fee, Chouette (details below)

• Wins and losses will be recorded for league standings

• All experience levels welcome

• Please bring a board if you own one (not a requirement)

• Top 8 players will participate in the annual tournament

  General Rules of play:

• Main tournament play are 9 point matches, single elimination

• Doubling Cube is active

• Time Clocks are active

• Crawford Rule is in effect

• It is the responsibility of both players to keep record of scores during the match

• Player etiquette is enforced

• Food and Drink Allowed
  Chouette:
  Ready for the ultimate social backgammon experience? Whether you're a seasoned "Box" or a Captain in the making, the Shore Backgammon Club is the place to be!
  Chouette is a high-energy, group activity where you can learn a ton about using the doubling cube and gain strategic insight from seasoned players. Come join the fun and level up your game!

  ##### How to Join the Action

  There are two ways to get your seat in the rotation:
  The Tournament Path: Enter the main tournament. If you are eliminated, your rebuy can be used to enter the Chouette.
  The Direct Entry: Skip the tournament and jump straight into the Chouette for a $30 entry fee (equivalent to a tournament play + rebuy).
  The Details
  Chouette Director: A designated Director will be appointed to manage the rotation and oversee all rules and regulations as well as set the stakes (upon agreement of all player).
  If you have a Doubling Cube, please bring one.
  Why Play Chouette?
  It’s the best way to improve your gameplay while enjoying the social side of the club. You’ll be privy to the strategy of the room and get more "cube time" than in a standard match.
  Collaborative Play: Teaming up as the "Captain" or "Crew" allows you to hear the logic behind expert moves in real-time.
  Casual Play:
  Love the game but want to skip the tournament pressure?
  🎲 Format: Play at your own pace. Non-tournament, zero-elimination, your rules.
  🎲 Bring: Your own board (BYOB).
  🎲 Always Playing: Play as long as an opponent is available. If no casual partners are free, you can hop into the tournament field for "for fun" matches so you never have to sit out a round!
  🎲 One Time Fee: $10 (Play all night!)
