Let’s walk together along the Bronx River Greenway to the Bronx River Alliance’s 4th Annual Community Banquet! This event is a gathering of foragers, land stewards, community chefs and herbalists that is open to the public. There will be free tastings, music, art workshops and more for everyone to enjoy. Come and show your support for this amazing organization and the surrounding community!

We will start our walk at the Pelham Parkway station on the 2 subway line. We will meet on the corner of White Plains Road and Pelham Parkway in front of TD Bank. Our walk will be south along the Bronx River Greenway where we will see some of the work our friends from the Bronx River Alliance have done as they work tirelessly to improve the river. We will pass through areas such as Bronx Park, River Park, Starlight Park, ending at Concrete Plant Park where the banquet will be held. Total distance is approximately 5 miles.

The banquet is a free event and will run from 12-4pm. Although there will be small samples to try there will not be any food or drinks for sale so bring your own water and lunch. It will be held outdoors so dress for the weather. Rain cancels.

You can leave Concrete Plant Park and the banquet at any time. The 6 train is just a short walk away. I will also be leading a walk after the event through Soundview Park ending at Clason Point Park where there is access to the Soundview ferry back to Manhattan. This optional walk adds about another 3 miles for a total of 8 miles for those looking for more distance.
