Distance: Definitely 6 miles, possibly 8 miles

Meet at southwest corner of Vernon Blvd and 50th Ave., by P.J. Leahy's, Long Island City at 10:45 a.m. for a prompt 11:00 a.m. departure.

Closest subway station is the Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave. station, number 7 line.

We will walk as much as the waterfront as we can passing by the Pepsi-Cola sign, the New York Terra Cotta building which is landmarked, and walking through Socrates Sculpture Park.

Important: bring water and lunch. Food and water not available where we will have lunch.
