East Side Walk
Overview
Relaxed, social walk for newcomers and casual explorers to clear your head, meet friendly walkers, and unwind with gentle outdoor time.
Details
Slow pace, 5-6 miles, 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Walk along 1st Avenue and East River walkway from 60th St and 1st Ave to Lower East Side.
Optional (possibly late) lunch at Ankara Turkish restaurant located at Orchard and Houston streets.
Bring water.
Meet in front of Home Depot on 61st and 1st Ave at 10:30 AM.
Take 4,5,6, N, R trains to 59 Street and Lexington Ave and walk to Home Depot on 61st and 1st Ave. Can also take F, Q trains to 63rd and Lexington Ave. Check with MTA Weekender for subway changes.
Bathrooms are available at Home Depot.
Rain or snow on the day of the walk cancels.
