MEET: At the Moynihan station at 8:40 AM on Sunday March 15, 2025 in front of ChaCha Matcha (next to the Long Island Railroad Ticketing office).
We will take the 9:06 AM Long Island Railroad train to Long Beach. This train is off-peak. (If you are a senior, the senior rate is less expensive than the off-peak rate). We will arrive at Long Beach at 10:02 AM, and will walk to meet the drivers.
The one-way train fare is $ 11.25 off peak, or $ 7.50 for seniors.
The returning trains are at 2:38 PM, 3:38 PM, and 4:38 PM, depending on what time the event gets started.

Note that not all train doors open at all stations. If you do not get on the train with the group, please ask the conductor what car you should be in for Long Beach.
Please indicate if you are driving. Drivers should allow enough time to find parking so that they can arrive at the Long Beach train station by 10 AM.
For the drivers:
The location of the Train station is in the Photos section below. Please arrive at the train station by 10 AM. There is a Starbucks at the corner of Edwards and Park, if you need a place to wait.
Parking can be found down side streets such as Walnut or Olive Street.

I will meet the train travelers at the Moynihan Station. The drivers will walk to the Long Beach train station (see photo below).

Wear shoes that won’t get ruined walking on the sand.
BRING: Water, snack, lunch. (Please make sure you have a snack that you can eat while you are walking.) There are numerous restaurants on Park Avenue for after the hike.
Dress in layers. It is colder and windier by the beach.
