Magnificent views and cool breezes as we walk 8 miles at a moderate to brisk pace along the paved paths of both the New York and New Jersey waterfronts. We'll use the NY Waterway ferry system to cross the Hudson - twice - and enjoy a sunset ride on the trip back to Manhattan. Optional brewery stop at the end of the walk.

WALK DETAILS: Leaving the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place, we walk north making a brief lunch stop at Pier 57, which has an outstanding food hall. In order to save time, you may want to look in advance at your dining choices at Pier 57: Market 57 Continuing to Pier 79 at 39th Street, we catch the ferry to Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken NJ. Information on ferry tickets outlined below.
On the NJ side, we head south to the Hoboken Train Terminal where restrooms are available. Ending our walk in Jersey City, those inclined are welcome to socialize at Departed Souls Brewing (https://www.departedsoles.com/) OR continue a short distance on the path to Paulus Hook Terminal and take the ferry back to Manhattan.
BONUS OPTION: For those members joining us at the brewery, you might consider putting in an order at Razza (top rated pizza) on the way to the brewery making online order at: https://razzanj.com/
There is also a bakery/coffee shop (https://www.pratobakery.com/) next to the brewery if you want to socialize with us but are not a beer drinker.
MEET: 11:45AM at Brookfield Place shopping mall in the Winter Garden beneath the palm trees. We will leave promptly at Noon. Take 1/2/3 trains to Chambers Street.
BRING: water, snack/lunch, and comfortable footwear.

MODIFIED RSVP PROCESS: In order to minimize the aggravation caused by casual clickers (those who change their mind at last minute so others can't take their spot), I will initially cap RSVPs at 40 and then only take additional motivated members from the Waitlist who text me (908-672-9250) that they really want to attend this event. Since we have already reached the initial 40 capacity limit, I will now require everyone including the president (I mean He Who Must Not Be Named, not Pam) who wants to join us from the Waitlist to text me (908-672-9250). Just to be clear, NO TEXT, NO GO, Preference will be given to regulars on previous hikes and/or members who indicate they are highly motivated members (will also join us to socialize at the Departed Soles brewery at end of our walk). Members who are paying attention here will realize that no-one should be left on the Waitlist other than casual clickers (folks who don't pay attention to directions).
