Quarter Saunter 8 mi (3rd of 4)

Quarter Saunter #3 will cover the 8 miles from Inwood Hill Park to Carl Schurz Park, as we continue walking Manhattan's 32-mile rim in preparation for the Big Day. Find a digital map of the route at Great Saunter - Shorewalkers.

MEET: 9:15 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2026 in Inwood Hill Park, inside the entrance at Seaman Ave. & Isham St., for a prompt 9:30 a.m. departure. Park restrooms are available. Take the A train to the 207th Street stop, northernmost exit, and walk two blocks uphill to the park entrance.

Route: Quarter Saunter #3 follows the Harlem River and East River (with a few detours) from Inwood to Carl Schurz Park at 84th Street. Lunch in Jackie Robinson Park; restrooms also available at end of walk. Plan on 3 1/2 hours, moderate pace.

Return: via the Q train at 86th Street and Second Avenue. Join us for all or part of the walk; there will be drop-out points all along the way.

Bring: water, lunch, sunscreen, and hat.
