About 10 miles. About 4/5 hours. Moderate pace.

Meet: Plaza outside Trader Joes at 59th St. and 1st Ave. at 10:30 a.m. Use the restrooms in Trader Joes or TJ Maxx before the walk starts.

We'll leave at exactly 10:40, walk over the pedestrian pathway on the south side of the 59th St. Bridge, then head to Vernon Blvd and make our way to the waterfront parks in Long Island City.

We'll take an early-ish short lunch break in Hunters Point South where there are restrooms and a concession stand if you want to pick up a bite to eat.

We’ll continue along the waterfront, then cross the Pulaski Bridge and make our way to the waterfront in Greenpoint, walking in parks when we can and on streets when we have to. We’ll continue down through Williamsburg and, at the south end of Domino Park, we'll walk inland a bit to get to the entrance of the Williamburg Bridge. We'll cross the bridge and finish up at the Delancy St. - Essex St. subway stop, where you can get an F/M/J/Z train.

The walk is about 10 miles, mostly flat except for the bridges. There are lots of dropout points, including ferries - Long Island City, Hunters Point South, Greenpoint, North Williamsburg, and South Williamsburg (https://www.ferry.nyc/) - and subways in Long Island City (7 train), Greenpoint (G train), and Williamsburg (L train). Please take a look at your map and plan your route home if you don't think you'll stay with us the whole time.

There will be sections of walk without shade, so please prepare for that. Bring a hat, sunglasses, water, and snacks/lunch. I'll postpone if there's significant if storms are predicted.
