We'll meet at 9:15am at NY Penn Station Long Island RailRoad area where the very large electronic departure and arrival board is, close to 32nd steet and 7th Ave. Please be sure to be on time or your will miss the train. We'll take the 9:30am Port Washington line train arriving in Douglaston at 10:02. ($5.25 adults, $3.50 seniors.)
You may also meet us on the east bound (towards Port Washington) platform at 10am if you are not meeting at Penn Station.
Once in Douglaston, we'll walk through some very beautiful suburban streets up some steep hills, and through a forested area, eventually making our way to the Little Neck Bay shore line with beautiful views of Bay Shore and other waterways. We'll walk the perimeter of the peninsula eventually returning to the train station around 1:42pm for the train to Penn Station. Along the way we'll have rest and lunch stops to admire scenerey and replenish ourselves. Those who wish to may visit Jmart, an amazing Asian supermarket carrying all manner of Asian groceries.
Please use the restroom on the train as there is only one stall at the Douglaston station.
Please bring lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen and hat, as well as raingear as needed. We go in intermittent light rain, but steady rain will cancel.
