Degenerate Art Walk
Details
This will be a themed eight mile walk in Manhattan viewing some art and the homes of artists that fled the Nazi regime settling in New York due to their painting of art that was considered Entartete Kunst-degenerate art. If art was Jewish, modern, and not representational or nationalistic-it was Entartete Kunst.
The walk will start in Washington Square Park, going through Union Square, Kips Bay, Eastside Greenway, Central Park, Lincoln Center and ending at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where some of Monuments Men and Women worked.
Bring: water, snacks and lunch or buy lunch at or lunch stop at the Hugh Bldg. Extreme heat cancels.
