Riverfront Ramble Walk & Scavenger Hunt in Ft. Washington and Ft. Tryon Parks
Details
Celebrate the end of the Fall Challenge by participating in the Riverfront Ramble, a walk-and-scavenger-hunt in Fort Washington Park and Fort Tryon Park. Join us to present the Fall Challenge contribution check to Riverside Park Conservancy during our lunch break at the Little Red Lighthouse. The walk covers 5 miles with stairs and inclines; however, we will be moving at a comfortable pace. We start at 145th Street and end at Dyckman Street with drop-offs at 181st and 190th Streets to the A train.
Enter Riverside Park at 145th Street, pick up paper maps for the scavenger hunt, and walk north to the Little Red Lighthouse. We'll stop for lunch at the Lighthouse and present the "big check" to Riverside Park. After lunch, climb up the steep hill and stop at
Break Away Cafe, 71 Cabrini. Discount available on coffee/pastries to Ramble participants. We then head north on Cabrini to Fort Tryon Park for the second half of the scavenger hunt. Exit Fort Tryon Park and take the A or 1 trains at Dyckman Street.
MEET: 11:45 am at Riverside Drive and 145th Street in front of the entrance to Riverbank State Park. The #1 train stops at 145th St. and Broadway one block away. At noon we'll enter Riverside Park and walk north looking for points of interest along the way.
BRING: Water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen.
