Let's take a leisurely walk through lovely neighborhoods of Hoboken & Jersey City to view the changing foliage, Halloween decor and beautiful brownstones with some detours to see historic sights & street art.
We will start our walk through Hoboken's bustling downtown area, stopping along the way to enjoy unique treats before checking out spectacular Halloween decor. We'll then continue east to Castle Point Terrace for a rest stop at Steven's Institute with awesome views of the city, finishing our Hoboken segment along the waterfront.
Once in Jersey City, we'll visit Jaume Plensa's mammoth Water's Soul sculpture before heading west to Hamilton Park, ending at the Grove Street Path station and Newark Ave pedestrian mall where there are dozens of eateries, bars & a great brewery to wrap up the afternoon.
Some notes:
- If coming from NYC, take Path train OR NY Waterways (from Brookfield Place) to Hoboken Terminal.
- We will leave at 1:45p sharp so plan your arrival accordingly
- There will be NO 'lunch break' given start time, length of walk & that we'll be stopping at places to get snacks along the way.
- There are limited bathroom breaks: one at the start, another within Steven's Institute 3 miles in and again ~mile 4 as we pass through HOB Terminal.
- Several drop out points to Path & Light Rail if you need to leave early, noting end time is approximate/ highly dependent on length of 'treat' stops and bathroom breaks.
- If you're looking for a brisk pace, this is NOT your walk. We will meander, pause to take photos, pick up local treats - rather than race to the finish.
- Our walk ends at the Grove Street Path station with access to either 33rd Street or World Trade Center.
