Hello everyone and welcome to our very first Short Cuts workshop! We are excited to launch our series of workshops to cover a variety of topics in filmmaking, and what better way to kick this off than to start with light! In this workshop, we'll introduce you to the world of lighting and show you that you don't need a lot of gear to make something look great.

We'll start by making sure we're all on the same page with some camera fundamentals to nail our exposure, then we'll block out the windows and build some classic lighting setups from scratch. We'll finish by opening everything back up and learning how to work with natural light in a way that's intentional and controlled.

This workshop will be led by Short Cuts founder, Abdullah Kokash. You can check his cinematography work here

This is a paid workshop. The revenue will be used to cover the cost of renting the studio.

Tickets are $15. Attendees will receive a discount code for our upcoming Color Grading workshop, where we'll color the footage shot in this session together. Can't make it to the Color Grading workshop but bought a ticket? We'll send you the recording.
