Hello everyone and welcome to another Short Cuts workshop! This time, we're stepping into the color room. Color grading is one of the most powerful tools in a filmmaker's kit and it can make or break a good image! It shapes the mood, tone, and feel of your story in ways that both supplement and go far beyond what the camera captures on its own.

In this workshop, we'll introduce you to the world of color grading and show you how to build an intentional workflow inside DaVinci Resolve. No prior experience needed.

We'll start with a quick intro to color spaces, breaking down the difference between Raw, Log, and Rec. 709, and how to get your footage into a workable state using CSTs and conversion LUTs. From there, we'll dive into node-based workflows and build out a foundational node tree covering exposure, contrast, balance, secondaries, and a final look.

To keep things hands-on, we'll share a Google Drive link with footage you can download and follow along with in real time.
This workshop will be led by Short Cuts founder, Abdullah Kokash. You can check out some of his coloring work here: https://abdullahkokash.com/

This is a paid workshop. Tickets are $15.
This is a virtual workshop. A Google Meet link will be sent closer to the event date. A recording will be sent to everyone who purchased a ticket!
