Bob Hunter "Boring" Hike

Details

Who wants to hike a "boring" hike, and what's with the picture of umbrellas? We're walking this trail because despite the trail itself being somewhat boring (90% flat by my estimate, and unpaved with gravel), it has some very picturesque landscapes. Additionally it is part of the Rouge Park and I'm hoping to lead hikes through all the different sections of the Rouge at some point.

The umbrellas you ask? Well the weather forecast for this weekend is calling for heavy amounts of rain. If by chance we're blest with sunshine we'll be happy to have our umbrellas to give us shade, since the path is mostly open (not very much shade provided by trees).

The trail is a figure 8, which means at some point we'll return to (or at least very near to) the parking lot, and then commence a second half. The distance is ~9 km which we'll cover in ~3 hours. That means we'll be going a somewhat leisurely speed, allowing hikers to stop and take pictures of the various landscapes including farmland, meadows, wetlands, and forest

Our group will leave at the posted time, so please arrive early. Please cancel your RSVP if you can't make it.

Bring water and wear good hiking/trail shoes or boots.
