November Full Moon Hike
Details
***Headlamps are mandatory ***
Our group will leave at the posted time, so please arrive early. Please cancel your RSVP if you can't make it.
While the Full Moon is on November 5th, I'm not a big fan of being out in the rain, especially when it's cold so we'll take in the moon on the following day and see it at 97% fullness. The moon will be approximately 360,000 km away at that point which is about as close as it gets.
We will start with a loop of the pond and the surrounding area which is approx 4.6 km, ending with us on the west side of the pond in time to see the moonrise ~6:30. After pausing to admire the moon for a bit (~10 minutes) we'll do another half loop of the pond to the parking lot. The total distance will be ~5.5 km . The route is a loop, so we will finish where we originally start from.
Bring water and wear comfortable shoes to walk in.
