Paris Mountain State Park - Sulphur Springs - please read description!

Sulphur Springs trail. $6 admission. This parking lot fills up fast so plan to arrive on time if not a little early. This is a 4 mile steep trail with 672 feet of elevation gain, lots of rocks, and a couple of stream crossings. Boots and trekking poles recommended unless you are already familiar with and comfortable doing this trail without them. Dogs not recommended unless your dog is used to hiking on steep, rocky trails. We will be going counterclockwise so we get the steep uphill done first while our legs are fresh, and we will be going very, very slowly so those of us from the Lowcountry who aren’t used to elevation gains won’t be intimidated and can keep our breath!
