Daphne du Maurier: The Blue Lenses/The Little Photographer

Details

This week, we will be reading The Blue Lenses and The Little Photographer by Daphne du Maurier. The first can be found in the collection The Blue Lenses and Other Stories (later republished under the title The Breaking Point) and the latter in The Birds and Other Stories.

A rather awkward full text of the latter can be found at the link below, and York Explore has one copy of it, too, but not The Blue Lenses.

I will be providing links to the full text of both stories in the comments in a couple of days, so no need to run out and buy anything!

The Short Reads Club Aims to be a celebration of short-form writing, perfect for anyone who wants to join a book club but doesn't have the time or energy to invest in longer reads, people looking for a gentle route back into regular reading, and, of course, general fans of short stories.

Twice a month we will read a different short story/stories connected either by theme or author. We read across genres and always welcome suggestions of great pieces to add to our tbr.

We meet in The Amnesty Bookshop on Micklegate. Teas and coffees are provided.

There is an attendance fee of £2 per person, this goes towards the Meetup fees and snacks. Any excess funds at the end of the year will be donated to Amnesty International UK as thanks for the use of the bookshop.
