"The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson

For our inaugural event, we'll be discussing "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, a story I've read numerous times in futile attempts to make sane the insanity it describes. You can read the story online for free.

Please bring a food item to share, since we'll be eating potluck style. I'll provide cups, plates, utensils, and napkins. As an organizer, I pay $180 every 6 months to use the Meetup platform, so please also bring $2 to help defray this cost.

I live right above Wegmans, in Reston. The apartment building is called "The Edmund." You can safely park at Wegmans. Let's meet by the Wegmans food court on the first floor, and from there, I'll bring everyone into my apartment building, and we'll go up to the fourth floor together.
