📖 About this session
This time we will read short stories by the Uruguayan author Horacio Quiroga. Considered to be the "grandfather" of the Latin American literary boom of the late 20th century, his short stories dwell on the intersections between nature, madness, death and the dread of human experience. For this session, we will read:
For a night of insomnia 🥴(1897, 1000 words), also available in Spanish here.
The suicidal shipmates ⛵(1904, 1300 words), also available in Spanish here.
The feather pillow 🪶(1907, 1400 words), also available in Spanish here.
The decapitated chicken 🐔(1909, 2500 words), also available in Spanish here.
Wild honey 🍯(1911, 1700 words), also available in Spanish here.
The dead man 💀(1920, 1500 words), also available in Spanish here.
