📚 About our sessions

Please read the stories listed below before attending. For every story we will start with summarizing the story so that we have it fresh in our minds. We will share our opinions about the story, which parts we liked and which we didn't like, and we will discuss any and all aspects of the story and the writing.

📖 About this session

This week we are reading the short stories of a Mexican author called Juan Rulfo (1917-1986). Juan Rulfo is mostly famous for two works of literature - a novel Pedro Paramo (1955) and a collection of short stories called The Burning Plain (El llano en llamas, as featured in the event picture).

Even though he hasn't written much he is considered a key influence in Latin American literature. To participate in the discussion please read the following texts from his short story collection The Burning Plain (1953):

🏜 They Have Given Us The Land at approximately 1,600 words
🧭 Paso Del Norte at approximately 2,200 words
💭 Remember at approximately 1,200 words
💀 Luvina at approximately 3,200 words

After the discussion feel free to stick around, socialize, and make new friends. ☕
