📚 About our sessions
Please read the stories listed below before attending. For every story we will start with summarizing the story so that we have it fresh in our minds. We will share our opinions about the story, which parts we liked and which we didn't like, and we will discuss any and all aspects of the story and the writing.

📖 About this session
Summer is coming and things are gonna get hot. Raymond Carver asked "What do we talk about when we talk about love?" For some, love and desire are two of the key ingredients from that. In this session, we will explore sexuality and desire from different angles and perspectives through four different stories that we will discuss:

🙅‍♀️⛪🥖 Girl - Jamaica Kincaid (1978, The New Yorker, Ed. June 19th 1978) (650 words)
👩‍❤️‍👩📚🖌️ The Poetics of Sex - Jeanette Winterson (1993, The World and Other Stories) (3700 words)
👀🙇‍♂️🦹‍♀️ Advice from an Unyielding Dominatrix to a Bewildered Disciple - Gabriela Wiener (2022, Sexographies) (3300 words)
🎥🏬🇰🇷 The Metal Bowl - Miranda July (2017, The New Yorker, Ed. August 28th 2017) (4700 words)

The session will be hosted in Slottskogen if the weather is good enough. If there is bad weather expected, the location will be changed to Språkcafeet as usual, 48 hours before the session.

Since this session is expected to be outdoors, it is encouraged to bring something to sit on or comfortable clothes to sit on the grass. Your are also welcome to bring some food to share with other bookclubbers, since this is a more relaxed session.

And of course! After the discussion feel free to stick around, socialize, and make new friends. ☕
