đ Short stories from Palestine
Details
đ About our sessions
Please read the stories listed below before attending. For every story we will start with summarizing the story so that we have it fresh in our minds. We will share our opinions about the story, which parts we liked and which we didn't like, and we will discuss any and all aspects of the story and the writing.
đ About this session
The stories for this session come from Palestinian authors showing different perspectives of daily life in Gaza.
Note: There is no explicit violence depicted in the stories regardless of the names.
- đŹTwo men by Abdallah Tayeh, 1997, ~2400 words,
- đŠRed lights by Talal Abu Shawish, 2011, ~850 words
- âïž Dead numbers by Yusra al Khatib, 2009, ~ 1200 words
- âïž When I Cut Off Gazaâs Head by Mona Abu Sharekh, 2008, ~1850 words
Location might change closer to the event. If the weather is good it is going to be in TrÀdgÄrdsföreningen, but in case of rain I will edit to the usual SprÄkcaféet. Will edit and comment here.
If you enjoyed them check out "The book of Gaza" (available in the Gothenburg library) which contains more authors and short stories.
After the discussion feel free to stick around, socialize, and make new friends. â
