What weāre about
We are an affiliate of the American Humanist Association. We are here to be a beacon of reason for those that consider themselves secular, atheist, agnostic, humanist, and/or a free thinker. If you are searching for a place to ask questions, you have found it. If you are searching for an inclusive group that is here to listen and not to judge, you have found it. We stand on the side of equality, not division. The side of science, not pseudoscience. You do not have to agree with everything everyone says, but we do expect kindness, compassion, and civility from all that participate in our events.
Please join us. We would love to meet you!
**Not sure whether or not you're a Humanist? "Humanism is a nontheistic worldview with ethical values informed by scientific knowledge and driven by a desire to meet the needs of people in the here and now. At the foundation of those values is an affirmation of the dignity of every human being." - The American Humanist Association

EVENT STARTS AT 6PM!!! - Turkey Run Day Trip of Hiking and KayakingTurkey Run State Park, Marshall, IN
If youāve never been to Turkey Run, youāre missing out! Itās only an hour drive from Lafayette, but it feels like youāve left the flat lands of Indiana!
Iām scheduling this a couple months in advance, so if the time comes, and the water is too low, we can just plan on hiking! Event is weather permitting, of course! Pack a lunch and bring plenty of water!
For those that want to carpool, we can meet at the Walmart on the South side of town and consolidate passengers! If carpooling, let's plan on meeting at 9:30am in the Walmart parking lot. If meeting us there, Iāll send out an email before the event letting you know if weāre starting with kayaking or ending with it (depending on weather!) and where to meet us!
Kayaking is $20-25, depending on whether we choose the 3 or 6 mile stretch.
While we probably wonāt be tackling the āruggedā trails, these are not very accessible. Please let me know if you have any questions!
