Carl Jung - ONLINE MEETING

Details
Hello, everyone.
We will be discussing the life of Carl Jung. I am going to try an experiment this time. Pick 1 (or both) of these 2 books to read. We will compare notes.
Memories, Dreams, Reflections by Carl Jung (An Autobiography) - 430 pages
Jung’s Quest for Wholeness by Curtis D. Smith – 182 pages. This one is out-of-print, but you can buy it used on Amazon or eBay.
If the books are too expensive or you unable to get them in time, then I would recommend watching the documentaries about his life (links below).
Most people do not realize what an impact Carl Jung has in our culture.
- The Myers-Briggs test is based off his philosophy (Introvert / extrovert; sensing / feeling).
- The ideas of the collective unconscious / archetypes / the shadow / synchronicity
- Impacted many artists like The Beatles / Jackson Pollock, Herman Hesse, David Bowie, Stanley Kubrick, and many others
Here are some key questions to keep in mind while pondering his life:
- Do you think he lived a meaningful life? Why or why not?
- If Carl Jung was given 2 - 3 minutes to give a summary of what he thinks makes life meaningful, what do you think he would say?
- Based on this, how do you reconcile (if at all) his thoughts with your thoughts on how to make life meaningful?
- Is there anything about his life that resonates / inspires / challenges you?
- After reading this book, do you feel the need to change anything about your own life - did you pick up on anything that helps you reorient your life to move toward finding more meaning in your own life?
