Join us on Saturday 7th June on this scenic hike through Hafren Forest to the source of the River Severn on Pumlumon, the highest peak in Mid Wales. The route will take us through enchanting woodlands, past beautiful waterfalls, and along the boardwalk to the very spot where Britain’s longest river begins its journey. We'll have a packed lunch whilst out.

### Route Highlights
- Hafren Forest: Wander through 40 square kilometres of serene pine and spruce trees.
- Waterfalls: Pass by stunning waterfalls, including the impressive Blaen Hafren Falls.
- Boardwalk Path: Enjoy the elevated pathway through the forest along the edge of the River Severn.
- Source of the River Severn: Reach the wooden post marking the start of Britain’s longest river, which flows 220 miles to the Bristol Channel.
- Wildlife Spotting: Keep your eyes peeled for red kites and other forest creatures!
- Carreg Wen Standing Stone: Marvel at this glistening quartz Bronze Age standing stone—a silent testament to the lost beliefs of the Bronze Age people who worked at the nearby Nant yr Eira mine. If you look closely, you might spot their burial tombs on the slopes of Pumlumon.
- Nant yr Eira Mine: “Stream of snow” in Welsh, this historic mine once yielded copper and lead ore used to craft tools and weapons. We'll visit the remnants of this industrious past, so prepare to time-travel through ancient craftsmanship!

Terrain: Forest paths, gravel tracks, boardwalks, and some rocky, uneven and muddy trails. Some steep sections.
