Snowdon Summit Hike – Yr Wyddfa via the Llanberis Path

Details

Ready to take on Wales’ highest mountain? Join us for an unforgettable hike to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) via the Llanberis Path—a route known for its steady climb, stunning views, and classic mountain vibes.
We’ll be tackling a total of 16 km (10 miles) with 940m of ascent, so bring your energy and your snacks—it’s a full day adventure with big rewards.

### 🏔️ About the Route

The Llanberis Path is considered the most straightforward way to reach the summit of Snowdon—but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a walk in the park. It’s still a mountain, and there’s plenty of steep, leg-burning sections to keep things spicy.
The terrain is wide and clear underfoot, making it suitable for anyone with a good base level of fitness and a sense of determination (and maybe a bit of a sense of humour for those final few hundred metres). You’ll be sharing the trail with lots of fellow adventurers—it’s a popular one—but the camaraderie and summit vibes are second to none.
We’ll take regular breaks, keep a friendly and steady pace, and make sure everyone feels supported from bottom to top (and back down again!).

### Highlights:

  • Summit Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) – Tick off the highest peak in Wales at 1,085m
  • Panoramic Views – On a clear day, see as far as Ireland, Anglesey, and across the Snowdonia range
  • A classic route – The Llanberis Path is iconic for a reason: it’s the easiest to navigate but still a proper mountain challenge
  • Supportive group atmosphere – You’ll never walk alone (unless you sneak off to wee behind a rock)

### 🏕️ Make a Weekend of It!

Why not turn your visit into a full-on adventure weekend in stunning Llanberis? I’ll be leading a Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) summit hike on Saturday, 9th August, followed by this relaxed and scenic Llyn Padarn & Dinorwig Quarry walk on Sunday, 10th August—a perfect double-act of big mountain energy and low-key lake vibes.

📍 Base yourself in Llanberis for the weekend, where you'll find:

  • Cosy B&Bs, hostels, and campsites
  • Cafés, pubs, and takeaways for your post-hike feasting
  • Views of Snowdon from your accommodation window (not guaranteed but highly likely)
  • An outdoor-loving community ready to welcome you

🧡 Do both events and you’ll get the best of North Wales: a tough-but-rewarding mountain day, followed by a relaxed wander and wild swim to restore your legs and soul.
Whether you're coming solo or with a mate, it’s a great chance to meet like-minded adventurers and really soak up everything this incredible area has to offer.

Want in for both hikes? Just book your spot on each event, and I’ll see you for a weekend of summits, swims, and slate-fuelled storytelling!
