Start December the right way with a sunrise adventure in the Shropshire Hills. On Monday 1st December, we’ll hike up The Lawley before continuing on to Caer Caradoc, taking in some of the finest ridge walking and views the county has to offer.
We’ll set off from The Lawley car park at 7:00am, headtorches ready, and climb steadily up to the ridge. The Lawley (377m) might be small but it packs a mighty punch—its sweeping ridgeline and wide-open views stretch across the Long Mynd, the Shropshire Plain, and on a clear day, as far as the Berwyn Mountains in Wales.
After tackling the Lawley’s playful false summits, we’ll descend before making our way up to the dramatic peak of Caer Caradoc (459m / 1,509ft). Here we’ll explore its ancient hill fort, Caractacus' Cave and soak in far-reaching views of the Shropshire Hills before descending past Three Fingers Rock and circling back to the car park.
