Details
Thursday 21st May
Arrive 6.30pm for 7:00pm start
This event is hosted by Shropshire Humanists and open to all.
The venue for this event has changed. It is no longer at The Brooklands Pub but at the Shropshire Wildlife Trust visitor Centre.
Exploring the events leading up to The Nakba in 1948, Kathy Brooks will help us understand the present situation in Palestine by learning from its past.
About the speaker - following visits to Palestine where she saw, first hand, the dreadful conditions experienced by the Palestinian people Kathy and her husband John started a branch of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign in their hometown of Berriew, Montgomeryshire six years ago.
Her support and advocacy for Palestinian people is goes back much further; the tragic events and bloodshed are not recent, despite what we might hear that the Gaza war started on 7 October 2023, the Israeli-Palestinian ‘conflict’ has a much longer, deeper, horrific, more troubling history that we will learn more about.
