This is a about 6+ miles along the mid-welsh coast from Borth to Aberystwyth. We will need to catch the train from Wellington or Telford or Shrewsbury at around 09.00 to 0930 and alight at Borth around 11.00
The train suggested is the 0906 from Wellington (Other stations like Telford or Shrewsbury are possible) heading to Borth/Aberystwyth arriving in Borth at 1106. Thus we will begin the walk at around 1115 from Borth station. Return from Aberystwyth at 1527 or 1727 or 1827 or 1927 depending on time taken. Cost is approx. £30 return for wellington. If you have a railcard it will be cheaper. Pamela may be well enough to come on the train but almost certainly, if she does? will not be doing the walk.
We will then follow the coastal path (which does have some sharp ascents and descents along the way) all the way to Aberystwyth taking around 3 to 4 hours. Possibly stop on the seafront for refreshments (Ice Cream at the Holiday Park and Fish and Chips on Aberystwyth Seafront last time) and there are return trains from the nearby Aberystwyth main station at around 15.27 and 17.27 and 18.27 and 1927 back to home station taking approx. 2 hours.
Please Note : This walk is occurring on a Saturday because the trains run infrequently on a Sunday. You will need to book the train tickets yourselves taking advantage of any cards and discounts possible. Walk will thus start at Borth station at time notified. The views on this walk are spectacular and the weather hopefully will be warm and sunny? You may travel by car (or otherwise) to the start at Borth but it is your responsibilty to be at Borth Station when we start (which is when the train gets there!). Please adjust timings if you are coming from Telford or Shrewsbury or others.
