Lead Mines, Crowsnest & Poles Coppice
Details
This is a pleasant 8 mile walk through varying terrain with some great views. We will meet at Snailbeach Village Hall which has an honesty box to pay their requested £2 parking charge. The walk starts & finishes in the lead mines museum so you should get the opportunity to have a good look around.
We then move on to Crowsnest where we encounter the only significant slope of the walk, it is gradual but quite long & we will take our time on this. We then descend & go through fields to reach Habberley & then through the woodlands of Poles Coppice & back to the lead mines. The walk is made up of woodland paths, quiet roads, fields & hilltop paths lined with heather. We will make one stop for a snack at lunchtime.
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a short lead, but be aware that we will encounter livestock at times. Afterwards we will go to a local pub for those who wish to partake, to be decided on the day.
