Shut Up and Art

Artists will start gathering at 10am in the VMFA cafe (we’ll have a sign) where we'll chat and socialize while waiting for everyone to arrive. At 10:30, we will head to a TBD gallery to shut up and make art. Afterwards, we'll debrief before adjourning.

Out of respect for museum policy, you may only use graphite in the galleries.

NOTE:

1. If you bring a large backpack, the museum will require you to wear it on your front. It's recommended you travel light.
2. VMFA allows guests to check out and use artist stools from the coat check station. Seating can be sparse in certain galleries.
3. No liquids in the galleries.

Celebrate hump day at our last drink and draw of 2025 at Three Notch'd Brewing Company in Scott’s Addition. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged. Let's talk shop, share favorite tools, suggest software tips, teach each other to work in different mediums and just chat about art and life. Bring any art project you want - draw in your sketchbook, lay out comics, work on a website - whatever!

Time and place for future meetups are open for suggestions, feel free to post in the comments. Please be sure to only bring materials that work well in a confined space and that leave no additional cleanup chores for our host's staff. Thanks!
