Shut Up and Art: Plein Air
Details
Since Real Spring has finally arrived, I believe it is time for us to go into the great outdoors and do some Plein Air. French for "outdoors," en Plein Air is the act of painting outdoors. So yes! Finally! Wet mediums are welcome.
Artists will start gathering at 10am in the VMFA cafe (we’ll have a sign) where we'll chat and socialize while waiting for everyone to arrive. At 10:30, we will head outside to shut up and make art. Afterwards, we'll debrief before adjourning.
Out of respect for museum policy, you may only use graphite in the galleries.
NOTE:
1. If you bring a large backpack, the museum will require you to wear it on your front. It's recommended you travel light.
2. VMFA allows guests to check out and use artist stools from the coat check station. Seating can be sparse in certain galleries.
3. No liquids in the galleries.
