Weekend Location Scouting! (#2): Cafe Fortaleza

Let's find a great place and time to write on the weekend!

This week, we'll check out Cafe Fortaleza, inside the São João do Pico Fortress. Due to the nearby playground, Saturdays are allegedly noisy. Let's try a Sunday afternoon?

I've never been, but I've heard GREAT reviews.

Note: The location appears to be outdoors, and I'm uncertain of the outlet situation. Come prepared with a fully charged laptop, or be ready to go analog (with pen and paper). Don't forget headphones, earbuds, or earplugs!

Finally, there's a steep climb. Give yourself ample time to walk or grab a Bolt if it's your first time, it's too hot, or you're unsure.

Background: We are location scouting until we find a permanent weekend home.

My preferred time to write is Saturday morning/afternoon (the earlier the better), but on the island, we have issues that cannot be ignored:

1. The MF Hub is closed on weekends.

2. We do not want to conflict with the MF Saturday morning workout at 10 am*

*Note: I attended the workout for investigative purposes. Some may find it intimidating (just judging from the photos alone), but it was trés fun. Out of respect for Luis (the burpee king), I will not schedule against it.

Keeping all this in mind, let's explore other spaces until we find the right fit: a cafe or bar that welcomes a group of nerds on laptops, offering delicious food, good music, and vibes.

Final Note: I am exploring an online weekday option with a "sister chapter" in Glasgow, Scotland. More details to come...
