Shut Up & Write!™ Charlotte - South Charlotte / South Park

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Thursday evenings.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:

7:00 - Quick intros
7:15 - Timer starts: Write for 1 hour+
8:15 - Keep Writing / Chat / Take off

Mugs Coffee closes at 9:00 pm

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING: This happens after we finish writing. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Please charge your laptop prior to arrival in case we have more people that need to power up than we have outlets for.

Other Important Details:
Mugs Coffee offers WiFi and we will provide the network name and password.

PARKING: There is plenty of well-lit and spacious parking in front of Mugs Coffee.

GUIDELINES: Mugs Coffee has a menu of delicious hot and cold coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, shakes, pastries, and other snacks. Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.
