Shut Up & Write! is a global community that empowers writers to overcome procrastination, silence their inner critic, and make consistent progress on their projects. Our events provide a structured and focused environment where writers can come together, set aside distractions, and achieve their writing goals.
What to Expect
Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, a period of focused writing, and a final check-in to share our progress. Once you arrive, our host will lead introductions, and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time. Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

The Shut Up & Write! Team
---Join us for an hour of focused writing! Write with other writers with no excuses to get in the way.
This is a meeting to just write.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, comic, fanfic, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write with us.
We'll do some quick intros, talk about what we are working on and then I'll start a timer, then it's heads down writing with no excuses!
SCHEDULE:
6:15 - Quick introductions
6:25 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
7:40 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing. It's up to you at this point.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens before intros and after the writing session. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is welcome.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

ABOUT THE PROCESS:
*Bring whatever you need to be able to write!
*Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block any overhead music or other background noises.
*If you plan to write electronically, bring a charged device as the seating arrangements are bound to change. I'll try to get there early and claim seats.
